Softlocked/ need raw hide

after about 90 hours I cant progress. I can't hire an Apprentice laborer to be able to get raw hide and leather and I can't liberate other towns to get a laborer cause all of the missions I have available require either raw hide or mats that require raw hide. I destroyed many many Bandit camps including the wheat field (couldnt loot that either) and now when I kill bandits the most I get is an apple and money. Im stuck. needs to be fixed. great game otherwise. also need to add fast travel or something for armies. raids and brigands attacking outposts or towns across the map is impossible to defend because you cant recruit enough to stock an army big enough to defend due to soft locking. put a laborer in the starting town, problem solved.

I would suggest liberating Farnworth first. It has laborer and sells raw hide in trade.
I did all the quest that I could until Trust level Friend at 300/1200, so I needed 900 more for Protector to trigger the liberation.
What I did was:
-Build village shrines (a T2 village building next to the T2 house on the research tree). Each needs 15 crude stones to build (easy but tedious). Each adds 75 trust, so I built 10 and gained 750 trust.
-The remaining 150 trust I got from giving 5 ancient coins to the elder (30 trust each).

Reached protector, liberated and got the labourer, (and skipped a lot of quests). Though I didn't build the drying rack because you can reliably get more raw hides from trade with Farnworth, and you don't have to hunt deer for hides because they also sell hides, and also small, medium, and large raw meat too.

Or you can just buy rawhide from Bradford (town trade once you liberated it) like I do. Can't have a laborer for now either
