Review bombing?
Am a bit confused about the reviews... is this getting bombed because some [random country but mostly China] doesn't get localisation or is it trash by nature?
Looks nice to me

Edit: Thank you all for the fast & informative responses! Will keep it on watch but not purchase for now!

This is the same devs that made Last Oasis. So it is being bombed by the petty kids that are upset that DC tried to make LO suitable for more than just PVPers. Then on top of that DC stepped back to try to figure out how to best move forward with Last Oasis. Read the positive reviews on the game then invest 2hrs time to see for yourself.
It is sad that Steam still allows the toxic people to destroy good games because they are man children instead of removing their review from the mix and them from the community. Rules are rules except when a group of people break them, then Steam shys away from enforcement. I would rather go back to when Devs could remove any review they do not like instead of having the manchildren bomb good games.

"This early access game isn't balanced/optimized/running/perfect." nuff said.

because people misuse the review system on steam. They don't actually review a game, they review a political stance, based on personal feelings for a dev team or publisher, or just to simply start a movement as if this was reddit or something. Basically, they're unattended children. The only thing you can do is play a game for yourself, or watch some youtube videos to see if it's a game you'd like. IF the devs previously abandoned a title, the reviews aren't the place for that. That's what discussions are for.

People also review games based on how complete it is... as an EA title. At the very least, people have a hard time grasping what early access is. Someone literally started their review with "another unfinished game".

This is not difficult. I provided the list and explained that every game on the list, to some extent, is either incomplete or abandoned.

Do I need to spoonfeed you?

Now it's your turn; Tell me, how many times must a developer abandon a game in Early Access before it would occur to you that perhaps they can't be trusted? 7 times? Or would it take 12? 100?
You linked games that get published by Snail Games not made from them...in this useless list there is only Last Oasis that is made from Donkey Crew.

You should not purchase the game just to leave a negative review of a company. That is just being a scammer yourself. You are acting the same way or worse as those companies you talk about. You should not buy the game if you are against it or the company. It makes no sense for you to do that.

100%. People did this with Diablo 4. The game was on Battlenet for like 4 months before it was released on steam. As soon as it was released on steam, people left reviews about the microtransactions, etc. Nothing to do with the actual gameplay. The entire review was based on things that were already known, but they waited for the steam release to, again misuse the review system, and use it to soap box their stance on the business end of the game. Again... which he already knew. Because the game was out for 4 months.

The sooner steam deletes the colored ratings the better, maybe someone will even read the reviews as well and i say, put more restrictions on numbers of letters, a system to ban ascii drawings and also a minimum of hours played, job done, no more review bombs and maybe, hopefully actual " reviews " if someone subjective opinion matters.
Just let these people have their scam game and forget about it.

This here is the reason devs nowadays abandon games. Because they know they have a 'soft' consumer base who are happy to be pumped.

On a scale of Payday 3 to 10 how would you guys rank this baby?

The game is rather tedious (all of them get that way, but this one starts out tedious). The character "customization" includes all of three hairstyles, and 4 beards. Items in your inventory don't stack (but they do stack in the camp chest, although it still has an item limit). There's no way to zoom out, so your camera is literally right over the character's shoulder... jumping/climbing is wonky (forgivable for early access). Overall, I'd say the game is average, but it is VERY pretty.

I'm going to say that excluding whatever Donkey Crew is doing or not with Last Oasis, I think most of the people who are voting negatively on this game come from feeling betrayed by Donkey Crew as a developer, that without finishing their previous Flagship game are going on a new adventure of making a half-azzed barely cooked game and charging full Indie Price for the game.

This is what literally is known as a cash grab. I have extremely low expectations for this game, specially more now that the Coop is not even 10 players at least its 4-player Coop.

I am super disappointed.

If I have one complaint so far, it's that the targeting reticle isn't where you actually attack. So if I want to chop down a tree, I have to offset the targeting indicator just enough to have it be pretty much useless. I foresee this being a real nuisance with archery.

I don't get saying Bellwright is a bad game based on what happened with Lost Oasis. You can say whatever you want about the developer/publisher but the game has nothing to do with that.

It's too early to be impressed or disappointed with Bellwright, have to wait and see. So far it seems fine. I've played pretty much every game in or around this genre when it first hit steam. I think folks forget how much of an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Ark was it's first month, , or how minimal Green Hell or The Forest was for quite a while. Given its price point I'd put Bellwright in the top 1/3rd of the pack for how far along it is at EA release. Where it finishes is yet to be seen. and I doubt it will pass games like The Forest, Green Hell, Subnautica, Ark etc for final quality but it's got a head start over others that started in worse shape (Stranded Deep, Escape the Pacific etc) and should easily end up worth its current price.

Also, seeming use of AI voices, which is something I only learnt of now, will keep me from buying it. Oh well.

It’s stated in the games description, it’s only temporary until they get real voice actors later in development

How many of these same people wasted $25 seeing a movie in the last few years?

If you get 10 hrs of fun out of a $25 game you got your money's worth. I have 40+ hours in Last Oasis that people keep complaining about. That's more than the cost of entry. People need a reality check on expectation vs. reality.
