For me manor lords and bell wright are different games and scratch different itches. Manor Lords is an expansive RTS, with a complex resource and city management system, but ultimately still an RTS. Create units conquer the map. In the long term this looks like it could be a best in class depending on the balance of the AI. Currently it looks promising though. I also have concerns about it being a single dev so it could be a long early access period.
Bellwright is interesting for me as theres a third person (wish it was first person) survival game, RPG and RTS game here. There seems to be more game play time potential in Bellwright (based on watching YouTubers), but its not clear if this is actual content or just grind. Food management in particular seems very frustrating. There is a lot of potential, provided its updated and finished.
No, it's really not, unless it costs 5 bucks.
You're literally penalized for playing it right now, as you can't fix problems or improve issue resolution until they put those options in the game and remove the gray'd out choice menus and implement certain overlays and mechanics.

Until now I have 2 hours in manor lords and maybe 20 hours in Bellwright as it is simply the better game for me at the moment.
Manor lords needs still a lot of time to get better, no matter what the hype says.
Bellwright has a lot of smaller or even larger flaws, but anyway it's the better game now.
At least for me :)
Can’t wait to see what they have planned for bellwright
Since I like exploration and I get bored with typical City Building games, I got Bellwright. It's an amazing game. I love games like NoManSky, Conan Exiles & KC:D and this one hits those similarities.
