most games are designed now to just get you out of the tutorial timeframe after 2h so you can not refund it anymore but true its too much of a coincidence that bellwright published their release date just a couple of days prior to mannor lord from the game play i have seen thus far from bellwrite the combat is clunky af no polish so best bet is to get your minions to rush the enemy and you just watch
The combat did seems clunky, but the Devs posted they have done a combat update, so should be interesting to try it out.

For me manor lords and bell wright are different games and scratch different itches. Manor Lords is an expansive RTS, with a complex resource and city management system, but ultimately still an RTS. Create units conquer the map. In the long term this looks like it could be a best in class depending on the balance of the AI. Currently it looks promising though. I also have concerns about it being a single dev so it could be a long early access period.

Bellwright is interesting for me as theres a third person (wish it was first person) survival game, RPG and RTS game here. There seems to be more game play time potential in Bellwright (based on watching YouTubers), but its not clear if this is actual content or just grind. Food management in particular seems very frustrating. There is a lot of potential, provided its updated and finished.
Does anyone know if either of these games will have fishing at early access?

Manor Lords is boring , to mutch Streamer can play weeks ago , that sucks . Streamer with 5 Viewers ? why? why can not all play !

That maybe true but if you can get at least 10 hours out of it well...isn't that good enough.

No, it's really not, unless it costs 5 bucks.

lol wow...2h per dollar??? dam inflation has skyrocketed! ppl use to cry about the 1h 1 dollar ppl... which i have always been lol
The main thing putting me off buying this is the past history of these devs and reports of bans when people mention it. Manor Lords is a sure thing for me though.
Manor Lords is going to be awesome, it is however NOT awesome right now... not even close. One of the strangest choices of development stages I've seen. They have a bunch of events and problems to resolve, but haven't put the options to resolve them in the game yet (literally have placeholders). I went through 90% content in 1 hour, ALL content in 3 hours. Check out my review if your curious as to what I'm talking about.

You're literally penalized for playing it right now, as you can't fix problems or improve issue resolution until they put those options in the game and remove the gray'd out choice menus and implement certain overlays and mechanics.

I bought Bellwright to play something until manor lords is released.
Until now I have 2 hours in manor lords and maybe 20 hours in Bellwright as it is simply the better game for me at the moment.

Manor lords needs still a lot of time to get better, no matter what the hype says.

Bellwright has a lot of smaller or even larger flaws, but anyway it's the better game now.
At least for me :)
Yeah I’m holding off on manor lords until it’s a little more complete. Played the demo last year and it was super quality.

Can’t wait to see what they have planned for bellwright
I bought both games and play them alternately. So far I am enjoying Bellwright a tad more.
Manorlords is a city builder, like Banished but with 3rd person bonus camera (not control). Bellwright is a 1st/3rd person survival with NPC towns, like Medieval Dynasty, but with combat and dynamic gameplay. Also the map in Bellwright is HUGE.
Since I like exploration and I get bored with typical City Building games, I got Bellwright. It's an amazing game. I love games like NoManSky, Conan Exiles & KC:D and this one hits those similarities.
