If you placed torches, they also count for the outpost, so if you didn't delete those it might still the outpost around. This was what kept my outpost around for a long time.

All I can think of at this point, is that maybe the first time you put down a personal shack, the location is marked permanently

Outpost can be deleted by destroying all buildings or switching them to another outpost, the only one which not deletes ist your main settlement, the one you named with the townhall. Was moving my mainsettlement and had an outpost for my new location after moving there i switched all buildings to that outpost but the other one didn't delete, had to do it the other way round and it worked.

And once again I tell you, for some reason deleting/moving/reassigning does not work for me..

try checking one of your npc's house when i removed/deleted an outpost that happened to me and somehow one of the npc's house in my main village was renamed to the outpost.. I had to resign it back to the main village.

I've got the same issue. Made a second base and deleted the entire first one, but it still "exists" as a settlement.

I've reassigned everything a couple of times to no effect.. My "solution" now is just to assign everything to my first settlement.. That way, at least I don't have to switch to my second one, each time I open the menu

I assume the first base is always considered "your village", whereas everything else are just outposts. You can delete your outposts, but not your village.

Yup, I ended up with that too

assign buildings in second base to first settlement. Then create an outpost and assign the original buildings in first base to it?
