Need a way to plant trees!
I look like I live in the Savannah now. All the trees are gone for miles lol. Why was this option not created already to plant trees?

Because they inteded you to make LOGING CAMPS. They already said in the discord they working on forester hut but steam says no road maps so they can't say much more. I assume the first big update to hit will be that hut crossing fingers soon. I don't know how this is not more known people talk about it a lot I posted responses to it in steam the few times I seen posts about it but people just make new posts instead look I guess.

yeah but my impression has always been since the settlers do not like to travel far for harvesting, that they also would not travel to a logging camp if it was too far, so I have mine very close to home. Logging camp or not, we need trees back ASAP. I appreciate your comment, thanks for the update on that.

Honestly its not even needed to do big things there, some simple solutions would already fix this
- give lumberjack camps just the aditional option to replant
- let trees just regrow on same spot after like 2 years
- well or if really wanted a forester camp
(i personally think the first 2 options would be fine enough and less work)

Trees do regrow... I have been farming the same trees for 30 days, several times.
Obviously, if you cut em down while they are "young tree"s, then you won't get logs out of em.

only young ones for wood not the big ones giving logs
(young ones as far i saw not became log ones, they stay young ones)

On a side note, the option to designate a specific tree as 'no touch' would be great. My loggers are killing the aesthetics! :steamsad:

I don´t see a need for a forester, the outpostsystem would become obsolet if you can stay on your first Settlementpoint with all resources around.
Build a loggingcamp away from your settlement, build a lite shack and an storrage there. Assign these Buldings and one worker to a new outpost, then set an autodelivery of food to your outpost and logs/wood to your settlement.

Sure there are enough trees in the whoile map and outposts work just fine.
Its more about the landscape become barren and ugly after chopping off all in the area

Yes, but if you dont want to loose your trees, do not build a Loggingcamp in your Base, start with an outpost right away. This way you can select the trees you want to get away.

+1. Good idea that is in many, many settlement games, so it is not an unreasonable ask. I don't know why people would argue against it. There are still reasons to expand

Well, the reason to argue is... that trees do regrow on their own.
What would a forester do? Just plant more trees? Make them regrow faster?

Only young trees regrow, they do not get big enough for logs. Thats why we need forester

I literally said first poster the devs are working on a forester building that lets workers replant trees, what is there to argue about? Its already an issue they heard input on and are working on a solution they like sigh.

But that is false... people keep saying that, but they do regrow into log giving trees in my game.
