Maybe this is only something I need to worry about, but I got about 50 barns and they are all gonne be full when I go back to harvesting instead of mass building.
I also find it hillarious that my citizens would fill up the food cellar with spoiled food!! :D
It would be more tolerable, if the warehouses ALSO slowed down food decay, like the food cellars do. At least you'd then have a reason to use them over spamming a bunch of barns.
Muno, uncheck the spoiled food in the cellar and check it in a storage near the compost where u make fertilizer, they usually move things around thanks to those checks. :) at least one logical sane mechanic
It actually seems like they tried to add some realism to the game. Raw foods spoil quickly which makes sense.
I think the main problem is that we are seeing food spoilage as DAYS, not MONTHS.
As much as I feel the food spoils too quickly for gameplay purposes, It should spoil in less than a game day if we wanted even a remote semblance of reality.
Try leaving some food in a box (cooked or uncooked), sitting next to some sticks and rocks, maybe a bit of already rotten food, and next to some garden tools. I guarantee it is not going to last for a few months.
Barns are definitely the best option.
