Question on Axes
Is there any difference between the simple axe and the woodcutting axe aside from combat?

It seems to take the exact same amount of strikes either way .. is there more durability on one vs the other? Haven't checked that out yet!

Also .. is there an iron axe down the road? Does it help cut things down faster? o.O

the woodcutting one i believe the only difference is that you can cut hardwood with it as you cannot with the simple axe. haven't seen a difference in speed or yield with different types.

Woodcutting axe is also T1 and can not cut hardwood.
The difference is in durability, that it is a "back item" (like a bow or shield) and the woodcutting axe is 2-handed (only levels that in combat ofc).
No idea why you would use the woodcutters axe over the simple axe or the later T2 (rugged axe).

Do you know how much more durability it has over the simple axe?

If you are thinking about farming, the axes comes with a tool rank and weapon rank. Seems to me the stronger axes with tool rank 1 would just be super expensive axes(and your workers dont use them it seems).
Personally if you are logging a lot....you will want to upgrade to T2 axes and stay away from the cheappies.....also your troops should be gaining experience and once their STR is above 3 you will want to use those better axes but personally I always have an actual weapon on them along with their axe or carpenter hammer or later the metal hammer (cannot recall the name of the hammer that is 35dmg I think but in T3 building its actually utilized in weapon and armour smithing) - I never allow my troops to use tools vs. weapons.......why go to war with an entrenching tool vs. a G36 rifle both can be used but the actual weapon works wonders comparatively to its tool counterpart - axes are like 20ish dmg vs. the actual swords and blunts being more than 30+ usually longer reach and faster swing most of the time - and of course when you are fighting more armoured opponents, those precious little dmg points mean the world to you when its between 5-10 dmg vs. still getting impressive hits in the 20-30 ranges. I am waiting to get my max weapon right now to be researched, but using a Mace which does pretty decently - the only opponents I still have a hard time on are the fully plated brigands who are a pain to damage especially while getting pelted by archers - so always move to keep your opponent shooting each other in the back :P whenever possible
