Villagers wandering off

Our village of 6 npc's has villagers wandering off from time to time.

Most say "Delivering items to travel sign #1" yet they wander far away from sign #1.
We only have 1 village, no outposts or any deliveries.

Have to resort to forcing them into a squad to get them back to our village.

Any ideas or help appreciated.

Turns out we had another Travel Sign with the same name that was not finished and they were trying to get to it.

I have a similar issue. just that I have nothing being build anywhere. they show that they are delivering stuff to a cooking station, but I only have one, or other nonsense. really confusing. cant even call them back, as they dont pack food and arent coming back to get any food.

I have noticed that followers will sometimes wander far off to gather resources they need.
Lets say there is no wood for a cooking station, the follower can then bugger off in search of a piece of wood it can harvest and is that saplings growing far away or in a bad location... well having a follower walk straight into a nearby bandit camp was not a smart thing of him to do.

My buddy and I in our Co-Op game have been having this issue since the most recent Patch and it's frustrating us to no end.

I have noticed if I drop something on the ground they will cross the map to go pick it up, lol.
