Bellwright doesn't start ...

I don't know what’s happening, but every time I try to launch the game via steam, it doesn't start. If I launch the game directly from the files, all I get is a black screen. I've tried uninstalling and downloading it several times but it still doesn't work ...

Once I got to the main menu, I saw a pop-up that said: "steam files compromised, try to analyze the files".

I don't know whether it's Steam or Bellwright that has the bug but I'm really disappointed and I want to know what I can do.

the black screen can last about 5 minutes sometimes (especially when loading for teh 1st time), you have a black screen and a mouse cursor and thats it. Just wait for 5 mins (some said upto 10 max) but man its annoying.
Even now it can sometimes take several mins for me and my PC is less than a yr old

without specific computer details nobody really can help you besides the basics.
Update your drivers, update your OS, close programms that you don't need in the background...
