Companion Fast Travel
It seems like companions should fast travel with you. It sucks sitting there just waiting for them to catch up to you when you try to raid a bandit camp a bit far from your base.

I agree it make's no sense that we can fast travel and they can't with us it just slows down greatly whatever you need to go do which is annoying.

I think it might be a bug right now. Based on the tool tip saying that if enemies are close by you AND your companions cannot use fast travel. With a tool tip like that I think the devs mean for your companions to fast travel with you.

That's how I read it too and was shocked when they didn't come with me.

NOPE its placeholder they didn't actually want fast travel persay the goal is to one day have animials before 1.0. The fast travel is kind of place holder thing just to help people get around the map pre horses.

Its not meant to be a permant always there thing in game just fix to issue of long tavel times for players. You move army faster you need to build a new settlment mroe in middle of the map like a lot of people do mid-late game..

Then just travel normally?
Sure it's a bit less convenient, but it's also not that hard to do.

Fast travel will not be removed and it is not temporary.

Uh I am disocred nto saying gonna be removed but its not meant to be used really a dev actually said it was put in because there is no othe means of long distance tavel. So unless you got a quote from dev saying they gonna expnad on this, then please reply with said info I don't give a ♥♥♥♥. Its not finished and seems wasn't really intended to be major part like at all in game.

The time passes too quickly to travel on foot.. it takes you the better part of two days to get to some of the bandit camps you have to clear for quests.. and by that time any food you packed on your companions is either consumed or gone bad.. and they leave. Mayhaps adding being able to feed your companions for a fee at an inn - you have to pay for their lodgings even if they are on the other side of the map walking to you.. and in the morning you usually find they wandered into a lvl 3 bandit camp and got chewed to s**t so you´re on your own.

In fact time passing way too quickly is one of my serious gripe with an otherwise super fun game.

personally they should take fast travel out completely and give players and companions mounts...
i agree companions are precious. They must do fast travel with the main character. I dont know what its planed for the game with it. But it could be nice to add this

Fast travel MUST stay in the game. I do not want to spend 90% of my time just running all over this freakin map just trying to get to one place or another.
The fact fast travel is linked to roads is a good limiter. Now they HAVE to have your companions fast travel to. The map is just too big to wait for them to catch up to you. And as far as the "but you can just kill bandit camps and be home by lunch arguement," if you dont want to use it DONT, do not force your game style on anyone else. This is not an MMO, it's solo or co-op and if you are co-op just give the ability to the owner to turn on or off fast travel. Simple. I do not see how this is so hard to understand.

Seconded.

Your companions take the direct - often totally suicidal - routes getting to your position if you fast travel .. and by an large they run out of food before they arrive and head home to loot food from inventory there. Your only other recourse is building a bunch of housing tents, a stockpile with food and move your workers to the outpost.. easiest to do while they are in a downed state as they teleport to that outpost when they get back to their feet.. but that seems an awfully complicated step that could be rectified with companion fast travel toots sweet. Give us both options.. trying to intercept raids across the map without fast travel is a royal pain in the behind.

Nah i wouldnt take fast travel out, the map is simply too big.

BUT i wouldnt allow mounts to fast travel - you either fast travel on foot, or ride on horse - that'd be a good solution imo.

I don't mind just walking with my companion but the big issue here is food, they get rotten fast and if your town other part of the world, heck even half of that map the companion mostly useless because they hungry. Even if we stacks a lot of food is useless because they get rotten at same time.

i made t3 gear for 10 companions so we can do the high lvl prison area and it took me an hour to get there on foot with them , the speed debuff is too much too
