Shoiting will get huge penaly just like shield usage, so you wozld have to drop one or another.
I like it that the game triea to atay true to the real life with this and not go comoletely "its a game, everything is possible way".
That would suck.
In reality I think its just a matter of time untill you will be able to do this, carry a lot of quickslot weapons and fight by smashing single button without mouse usage = a lot of titles in the end drop their original concepts to satisfy the lazy hack/slash players. So dont give your hopes up.
I would like slot 1 to be for tools - ie. the villagers would tool/retool on that slot.. but the game would _not_ make them turn in the weapon in slot 2 - their "personal weapon" so to speak. This would ofc not do with 2handed backslot weapons.. but that is OK.
ultimatly its a balance issue... but i am in favor of the current restrictions...
for that matter, it would be nice if the player could do this too. work, fight, conversate. so we can stow tools on us, instead of storage. and we could have non-combat clothing for when we enter towns (rather than only asking us to unequip our weapon/tool) because who wants to speak with an armored warrior about fetch quests, or someone with a menacing looking hood.
They do not store bows there.. and they often dump their arrows into the stockpile even if they have a quiver equipped. And I think they seem to arm themselves rather haphazardly - rather than choosing a weapon suitable to their skills. When I get raided I form up everyone into companion slot so I can micromanage their loadouts. Irksome.. but necessary.
then lets hope devs can set this more appropriately. At least there is some start to it.
