for food get forager/trapper/huntsman/farmer and one of the campfires (depending what fits to the method of obtaining food), if you dont provide food the workers will be going off searching for beries etc, which may or may not be that bad depending on your need for the resource of that outpost
IDK if outposts get targetted by raids or simmilar stuff
You can have it auto delivered every midnight from your settlement (along with any gathering tool(s) needed at the post that might have been used up during the day). Then set up deliveries from the outpost to the settlement for any resources produced by the outpost.
How much food do you send out of interest?
This sounds good but how do i set it to deliver food to there specifically?
Hit "N" click on "Deliveries" tab. The name at the top is the settlement/outpost you're delivering to. Search for what you want to send it (by typing in the name of the item), then select where it is coming FROM, the frequency and the amount. Do the same for other items.
Oh, I'm pretty sure you need signposts to make it work.
What happens with raids?
Forager, Hunter, cook = have at minimum these positions covered allways to ensure everybody else is working.
Cook usualy can keep up with cooking for masses, if anything, you will propably need to set more people to prioritise gathering and hunting food.
Winter is special because you can have bad luck and not find much food, simply save up money for winter and run around villages to buy food, its not that expensive to cover any gaps that may appear.
With a huge pile of all 3 you can keep cooking berry jam and mushroom stew for days.
With good food like that workers don't take as many lunch breaks, either.
Yep, this is true too, at least I have also not noticed any nosleep debuff from abusing the workforce at night 😎👹
