I've mentioned that food decay is to fast. Most of my time is spent hunting or finding food.

Better food decays much slower. Food stored in the Food Cellar/Root Cellar decays much slower also.

I know it is not a solution, but it does improve as your settlement improves.

or at least have the cooks actually cook
I have to manually cook the stews (lv3) even though my cooks (levels 6, 4, and 4) all just keep stuffing sticks in to light it, but never add any ingredients for the recipes I set up.

i agree with this i think that the current food spoiling is good for raw meats, however cooked meat mainly smoked and dried meat should last more then 7 hours, not to mention Jam. Soup i can understand cause it spoils fast without re-fridge, but during winter -_-. also if you are going with the times and saying that food spoiled quickly back then. How about adding the fact that beer was the main source of clean water back then. I find myself running out of wolves and boars to kill. and the deer -_- good luck killing one of those with the simple bow (yes it's doable). i also have hunted rabbits to the point of extinction. still not enough when your fat ass slaves eats 6 berries,2 smoked meats,3 mushrooms, and a meat stew. Like seriously even i can't eat that much. i'd like to add that this is just 1 slave the others will eat just as much.

Unfortunately the Root Cellar needs an apprentice innkeeper which means finding one, being able to liberate that town and then recruiting that villager before being able to research it. There needs to be a better T1 food storage option.
My game currently I am running through a single item in about 2-3 mins. and its frustrating to keep feeding your face just to run around a little bit....

I try to keep my player stocked with 2 to 3 items of the best I can make, ie cooked meat / mushrooms or stews and jams once you get the cauldron, but the villagers will not go out of their way to make sure they have food which is really annoying so they walk off to gather supplies from somewhere and then complain about hunger because their food ran out on the way there. Or the smoke 500 mushrooms unless you tell them to stop by placing the smoker on 0 priority :(

Not only is decay too fast, the amount of food required is too high or the yield is too low (take your pick). The game is starting to feel like a third rate medieval big game hunter, because most of the time all you do is hunt to feed your village because they seem incapable of doing it on their own even with a 15 traps and a devoted hunter/trapper.

They need to stack food on the players like in Ark. If they want to keep the three food thing, make it in such a way that they rotate between the same three instead of constantly loading up on three foods every 5 minutes.

agree, food spoil fast, or add fridge craft :DD
