How do you unlock the Tool Maker?

Has anyone unlocked this yet? I NEED a shield that won't break in 3 hits by a bandit.

The game desperately needs descriptions on the tool tips for research. Don't just say "not unlocked" say "unlocked by researching X" so we know what the hell to do other than just randomly researching and hoping for the best.

Well, in theory, after building the townhall you should have an level 2 research table right at the townhall and there you can research higher tier stuff. you may don't meet the requierments for that tho. check U. For the Toolmaker you have to unlock first the oven thingy and so on

Ok, I didn't realize that the T2 research table would be at the entrance to the Townhall, thanks for the tip!

Yeah thats true, when i build the town hall, i only saw the table in the building menu heh. its all a bit... hidden

Do you know, witch Lev in Research mus be have an NPC ? MY best Worker has Lev 4 and he cant research Lev 2 Buildings, thats realy anoying.

Unfortunately, I didn't understand the level requirements for research either. My best researcher has level 5 and so the Tool Maker and the two wells could be researched. But somehow the tavern doesn't work.

You did saw that you need .... ehm. talented villagers to research certain things? Like for the tavern you need a Innkeeper.
And you don't just need him to be "there", you need HIM to make the research...
Thats what i noticed with the blacksmith at least. Nobody bothered to research blacksmith things EVEN THO i had one around, so i did put research on the blacksmith on prio #1 and tada, he was researching it

You can train them with books, just have to buy or find the books. Some are given for quest rewards that are can be used on you or a worker.

The researcher needs the title in their name. Getting an NPCs farming up does not make them an "apprentice farmer" (needed for the apiary). Only an NPC who has appentice farmer in their name when you talk to them count.

Example in order for me to research Yew Bow after i built my Village Hut then Tool Maker building, it says in the description research " Apprentice Woodsman" needed, so go hire one from a village if you have enough trust built up in.

Prepare to equip your workers with hammers and max prio the building task that takes ages to build

I have the town-hall built, what else do I need to do to unlock t2? My research desk is still blank

So reading all this, it seems that the people that like this game are a bunch of sadists that love the “grind”(in other words, wasting time for “achieving” something in a video game).
It’s amazing how boring today games are, just add in some amazing graphics and people are hooked to the wonderful world they are in to sink in hours without fun.
It’s not even that that the game is a grind because there is a lot of stuff to unlock, but the way its unlocked, you literally have to do step-by-step stuff so you get somewhere.
For an open world game, this just seems like an “alleyway”-world game, just go straight and dont even think about skipping things that devs want you to do.
It’s funny how the first answer to the old fart in the village is something in the lines of “oooh there is going to be a lot of these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chores init mate?” Exciting!
Good, if you like chores, get off your ass and moe the lawn or rake leaves or smth.
Conan exiles is the top of the pyramid compared to all the other games out there in this genre.
