Will the Devs answer the controversy and doubts people have?

I'm a bit surprised that the devs or the publisher are not responding to the doubts coming from players and reviewers. I understand that it may be pointless to even address it as they may leave the game in 3 months regardless but from what I remember about Last Oasis the game was great on release but was completely destroyed by the PVP dynamic. I would love to see them react at least.

In fairness, you could be talking about players or the Devs with that statement... Last Oasis isn't even the first game they abandoned - And don't get me started on the games abandoned by Snail Games...

Understood, I have mainly experience from Last Oasis when it got a huge hype from streamers at the beginning.

Totally on point. I think that Last Oasis would have been a much better success as a survival PVE experience.

The short answer is no. They absolutely will not. I don't know what it is but every game Snail Games gets their hands, that isn't Ark, is destined to die.

Adding coop (like Valheim) is defo the lesser of evils at least, no cheating that matters to anyone, but total PvP??? Yeah, 'forget' that, bye-bye if that happens.

I'd rather see the whole interview. PCG sometimes parses (edits) stuff, and the resulting impression doesn't come across accurately.

I'd would have rather enjoyed my time playing the game and have it die rather than have yet another pver get a game catered to them when there are tons already. Pvers are some of the most selfish playerbase ive seen, constantly complaining about strictly pvp games until they get what they want. You hardly see any pvpers incessantly complain about pve only games or for the game to be completely changed to their playstyle and the seldom ones that do ask for a seperate pvp only server. Pvers are the boomers of the video game world.

If they claim they won't abondon this, they'll be accused of lying.
If they claim that if this game starts costing them more than it makes, they'll leave it like they left last oasis, they'll be accused of admitting they are money grabbing.

They really can't win no matter what they say to those criticisms, if I were them, I would also ignore those comments.

Not relevant to my post at all. I was talking about the effect cheating has on a new game's reputation. Thanks for giving me your opinion on which you prefer though! <3

Very nice catch! Definitely makes sense the way they presented it. I have high hopes for this game as it's quiet polished as it is now surprisingly.

I agree. Also, on the side note, I believe that survival games are really toxic with pvp in it. I rather prefer battle royal games than Survival games with PVP.

You have a point. I wouldn't believe it either. Their actions will speak for themselves and so far I'm happy with what they do with the game.

Ummm, yeah, if they have abandoned projects in the past (if true, I'm not familiar here...) then yes, the community is rightful to loose any faith in their products.

It really is as simple as that.

How can you say they "abandon" projects when Last Oasis recently had an entire major overhaul in 2023 and they released a modders kit april 16th 2024, that to me, sounds like "long term support" for a game released in 2020.
