I've seen mine store meat they put on themselves. Not sure if I have seen them store food I put on though. Do you have storage open for it?

I've never seen mine burn food. Always take it off.

Taking food off and storing it, is a delivery job. You need a couple people that are dedicated to delivery. Delivery jobs move resources from one storage to another, IE from a gathering or trapper camp, to your stockpile. Resources to your crafting benches so your crafters can work, refuel camp fires, and pick up ready food to take to a storage place.

Also, check your cooking areas before going to bed at night, my cook likes to put stuff on the stew pots and fires before going to bed. And if I don't catch it, it stays on over night and ends up burnt.

But hauling jobs are super important. I just wish the villagers with the porter perk didn't have a speed penalty, but the extra carry amount is nice.

so removing cooked food is delivery? so up priority. I'll give that a try.
Dev´s must change a lot on the NPC´s. They eating all the Time, the whole Meat. If you have few different Things for Food, they only eat the meat, its so anoying. Meat goes so fast out , normal i must go every Day the whole Day for Hunting.

They only eat other Food, if you dont have Meat but than goes the Happyness down.

As soon as I get the second npc the start burning food like crazy, same if I dont take care of my traps my self I never get meet from traps anymore. I think 2 things needs to happen. You have be able to dedicate who cooks, just as any other instalation. Two the always put in full load of sticks to burn. And they start cook before they go to sleep some times.

Will this work when I set create XY items then who asign create it have no materials, then someone with delivery will bring materials from chests? And when no materials then who have priority gathering will go find and take at first?

Its all about priority and how you set it up if you have all workers doing everything they will get side tracked and forget about the food if other buildings are prioritised, find someone who is good at cooking or the best worker with the best stat and tell him/her to prioritise that particular job. They were burning food in my playthrough too but tweaking seems to have done the trick.

Then youre doing it wrong thats all i can say. Maybe you need more workers to alleviate the workload try that if all else fails. Also if you want them to stop harvesting then stop the worker jobs youve setup on that building aswell. If theres worker jobs on the gathering hut for example they will fulfil them regardless, thats what ive experienced so far anyway.
