dose anyone know where to find iron?

The iron mines are at the south end of the map, first find the village of Hornton, there is a prison southeast of Hornton, and there are two iron mines west of the prison.

Thanks a lot for this info! Did you search a lot for potential other spots? I'd assume there are more places with Iron, but so far I have no luck finding them.

HUGE ammount of iron but at uneven terrain so building may be litle bit tricky

i found mineable rocks here (needs the tier 2 mine and pickaxe unlocked). The node is the ore icon just north of the town at the bottom of the image https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198038247231/screenshot/2478744714372467915/

edit: I should note, the roads werw heavily patrolled by large (4+) bandit gangs. The iron node was on the far side of a steep hill to the east of the road (all grass, not stone but climbed a good bit).
