traps no longer working
my traps no longer catch anything the berries just stay in them the whole time, days go by and nothing gets caught. I even put them in different locations, is this a bug?

Traps, as far as I understand, need to be put inside dense forest--deep enough into the areas on the map with darkened tree icons, not the edges and also a good distance from buildings of any kind.

Your workers that do logging could potentially deforest the area you slapped them down in too so keep an eye out.

Otherwise, just disassemble them and try putting them down again.

I have the traps set in the tree area, so not sure whats going on. also is there a way to grow trees back in this game?

When you place a trap down and put berries in it, the trap remains static and you cannot remove it. Only when a rabbit goes in it will it be interactable.

Pro-tip: Search the woods and when you spot a rabbit, place a trap in its area. Do not just randomly place traps in different locations without having seen the animal you wish to trap.

That's strange. I can replace my traps and place a berry and walk away and turn around and ....pop... a blue light shines and i've caught a rabbit.

thats what use to happen I would always have meat and i didnt even put them anywhere specific, but ill try placing them where i see rabbits to see if it starts working again.

never had any issues after 20 hours of playing, thinking one of the updates might of screwd up my saved game.

Guys, sadly it is an error in the tutorial. The traps dont actually need to be placed anywhere near the forest, as a matter of fact ive never caught a rabbit in the forest. The traps need to be placed in an area that you are actually SEEING rabbits running around. ie south of Haerdian where flax and sage are harvested are where i lay down my traps. they catch a rabbit very quickly. hope this helps!

I'm actually suspicious it's the hut and not the traps or their location, or more accurately the hut counts as a building and will screw things up if it's too close.

I had 3 traps in the woods, I was manually clearing them every morning and had a steady supply of rabbits. Then I built a hut, probably too close to them to them and never saw another rabbit.

So the traps need to be in a good location, the hut should be in your town center well away from the traps.

Traps working fine here, just make sure you have it in dense forest and mainly not to close to your buildings.
I placed some traps in a area where i have never seen a rabbit and it worked just fine. But i think i killed a few trees too close and now they're just not working anymore.
So it *might* be that you killed a tree on the wrong place :P

is just me or do other people hunters get stuck on the traps when they go to get the meat and just dance over them until they starve or i empty them?

I had that happen once. As soon as I grabbed the meat he decided he had something better to do and walked off. They get stuck on trees and rocks occasionally too. Pretty much every game has problems like that, dino's *still* get stuck in Ark 8 years after they 'fixed' it.

nope. no rabbits found, but just placed a trap inside the forest, and there you go, meat every day. I think it's more of a bug that you can't catch anything with some traps.

yeah I was never very specific where I put my traps, I never saw any rabbits in my area and still was getting meat every time then one day I load my game up and now I can never catch anything with them.

I had about 10 traps in my village working just fine every day for first 40 or so days, but once i started building village hall and or changing around hunter priorities something happend and none of my traps are working. It wouldnt be a tree cut as i cant cut the trees the taps are by.
