Wheat? Straw?

Anyone help find this stuff.....I think I saw a vendor carry wheat at one point...but since I did not need it at the time did not bother with it.....

There's a wheat field guarded by bandits south of Padstaw. There you can harvest your first wheat and turn it into straw/seeds after researching a thresher.

You'll eventually get a quest to "sneak" into the Wheat Fields and steal some Wheat. Key is to sneak in and avoid the guards and run like crazy when you are spotted, learnt this the hard way, took me + 8 villagers with me and was slaughtered trying to capture it, those guys are hard!

hehe....ok good to know...will try that out....man, I have been stuck at Tier 1 for awhile trying to find this crud haha....hopefully now I can move onto better armour/weapons since I am pretty much maxed out already

The wheat is down the road from Padstow. Walk in grab 5 or 6 then run when bandits aggro. They only chase you so far. Rinse and repeat. I never took any companions, and filled my inventory. (Thought I had enough for thatch but it takes 5 straw for 1 thatch) I built a fast travel at the fork in the road so at least it wont take too long to get more.

Better, in my opinion to use the first wheat you get to thresh it into grain, so that you can plant it in a farm to grow your own. It takes about 3-4 days, but if you manage it properly, you'll have plenty left over from your first crop to thresh into straw. After that, you don't have to raid it ever again.

Wait now, what we do with wheat? I know we can make flour with the seeds but I have like 700 wheat with no use

You turn it into straw for thatch roofing.

Figured out Wheat into Straw or Grains, figured out how to turn straw into thatch

what in the 9 hells do i have to do to make bread or porridge out of the grain?

I have tons of the stuff and can't find a way to make it into food

In the tech tree there’s a bakery and brewery. I expect you need specific building to make use of it,
