Scaling is wack. I know there's only three tiers of bandits, but considering the camps dont re-spawn, its kinda f'd up to have camps as difficult as they do in the starting zone.
I don't know if this is to cover up a current lack of content due to Early Access or what but as the 12 hour mark, I expected to be able to kill something other than wolves (barely).
Except for the fact that he dies in two hits and then they come for you (and they move a heck of a lot faster than you do).
I wasn't aware they were on sale, so thanks. Of the bandits I've killed they don't seem to drop very much, though its RNG so it may just be my bad luck.
The issue still stands that T1 gear that requires T2 ingredients is just T2 gear. If you are going to have T1 gear, make it T1. It seems odd to have a game that the joy is being able to be self sufficient, but then need to grind / buy a key item. If it felt like trade was more embedded as a feature then it would feel less like a work around.
Did you do some of the village quests? There’s a low requirement peasant you can get as a second. I did a couple of quests which got me to friendly with the village which enabled grabbing a third.
But yeah bandits are pretty deadly so far. I imagine this will be tweaked. I just hope they don’t over tune this, I also like the danger despite it being quite frustrating.
But lol 3v3 is 50/50 - easy victory or crushing defeat
Exactly. It's like leather\padded armor doesn't exist. There's no reason there can't be an effective T1 option that's proper T1 gear. Yet they basically have you going from cloth to brigandine or somesuch.
Correction, it was actually 13 hours. And yes, I just hit "friend" for the starting village. Hence the second dude. But they're still getting slaughtered.
The key to bandits, get your bow and arrow as fast as possible, then attack the 2 man road patrols. HS will instant kill them so practice is key. Then walk backwards and shoot at them. They pretty much straight line for you making it easy killing.
I feel like the melee combat is a bit cumbersome so I avoid that.
Make sure you are doing the quests that give you renown so you can buy the villagers. Make them all workers and change them to guard as necessary. Soon I'll have a dedicated guard and get their gear up.
I feel your pain. It certainly does exasterbate any sort of progress when you're still the one having to do all the menial work instead of spending that time getting out there to dispense divine justice on the wicked.
