I'll probably end up starting over once or twice until I figure out a good spot so as to expedite getting a sword and some serviceable armor.
You dont get your water from lakes but from a building later on. So its irrevant.
Tell us you didn't read what he said without saying you didn't read it......
Got first raid after I met the second elder in the next village so it was awhile. When I was building close to a road I was getting attacked a lot just as I wake up from sleep.
Exactly why I restarted and plopped down right by the lake on the wolf-free end by the copper veins. Helps with getting a lot of buildings out quickly, though arguably does not help much with the pita of trying to get the various ropes you need for any halfway decent gear so as to not get completely wrecked by the bandits.
In this regard it's really giving me a Myth of Empires feel. In that game they hid all the metal behind massive bandit fortresses so you have to clear their bases, but you can't clear their bases without substantially better gear than you can get without metal.
I built by the bell tower. I originally almost built by that pond where everyone said the wolves are (wolf killed me).
I wonder if there is a way to move my shelter?
