Try something else if you are that picky about maps.
Who knows, later on they may implement different maps or maybe areas you can travel to that are procedurally generated.
This. Handcrafted maps are usually far more interesting to explore.
Except that limits how much they can do in the game and still allow people with older weaker hardware to play. Unfortunately Sugar you are thinking of your wants and needs and forgetting others, the devs can not do that SUGAR.
With this game it's probably best for them not to spend too much time working on algorithms to generate worlds, because as of right now there is a 100% chance of this game being abandoned in early access anyway.
That was exactly our thinking behind it. We could have an infinite number of bland maps that have nothing interesting to offer or one beautiful handcrafted map (that still needs work). That said, mod support will expand on it even further
Sugar, hand-crafted maps mean a lot less replayability for those with excellent memories. Elden Ring would be an exception simply because the world in that game is so beautiful, vertically deep, and expansive. Elden Ring set a standard that most dev's simply won't be able to reach, but enough about that game. Unless the map in this game is incredibly large, it better be a really cheap game at some point.
