A bit of a peasant/food workaround...
So, I set up all my cooking stations and water collector next to my food storage units but created a new 'outpost' labeled "My Cooking Stations". This will ensure that the peasants will not have access to the food (hopefully) but I will have access to the food storage units. This does mean that I will have to cook all my food - sad - but I will be able to curate my own diet.

Why aren't you having your villagers do it? If you have all the priorities correct keeping a steady supply is pretty easy.

Because there is some food that provides some amazing buffs and I dont want them to eat it. I am at the end of Tier 2 and some of the more rare and amazing foods are still a bit of a challenge to get.

I make Fine Stews all day got like 60 in a box with the berry juice, the smoker is great for only a little bit, then around 10 villagers they just stopped taking it off, read a lot of fixes, so only have the cooking pot now and a bunch of hunter/gathers, only starved 1 winter, never again!

but you are a lot higher tech so, probably really good stuff to be made, ya hiding stuff villagers is hard haha

Also your Food village can be target of a Raid, I had 1 lone fire way out in the middle of know where and changed it to its own Settlement and it was target of a Raid
