Forester is absolute garbage...

Have 3 (count them 3) fully stocked 100% time, with farmers and workers designated for it; however, they will never plant the trees with any density what so ever. They'll will plant each tree SO far apart that and SO slow that it is a complete waste. The trees never grow to 'big trees' either. They only seem to grow to the point where they will drop only 1 log at a time, not the 3 log trees.

COMPLETE waste of time, fertilizer, mud, water, and effort!!

Its been about 20 in game days and maybe 10 trees have been planted and harvested with about 1 log each tree.

It doesn't work like that.....

Basically it just regrow log and hardwood tree's you already cut down. It doesn't create new massive forests.

So wait. The stumps gotta stay in the ground? If I pull em out of the ground then they wont replant or are there 'invisible' spots where they can place them?

Yea, I dont know - my guy. Cleared out a small area and left some stumps in there and they have not replaced but maybe 1 or two trees and no stumps. -_-

Young trees and saplings will regrow by itself. Log and Hardwood tree's need to be re-planted. I don't think remove the stubs do anything else than clear the land so you can build on it, and if you don't build on it I don't think it matter if you removed the stub for some extra wood or not. As long as nothing is blocking the cell where the tree was, they can replant it.

I had a village that looked like a wasteland due to all the trees was cut down over a wide area. Placing 2 foresters and it was back up again quite fast.

Maybe I have a buggy spot? There is a gnarly patch of land that they just wont plant on it. And its green on the map... ? Who knows. Thanks for the advice!!!

Forests is show as spots with trees on the map though. Open areas show as just green. They can after all just re-plant a tree in the same spot you cut down a tree before.

I cleared my stumps and they are regrowing in the area. with the fire wood wate at the cooking stations more regrowth would be nice.

Remember your wood cutters will chop down young tree's and gather saplings continious as they gather wood so you won't really notice these regrow a lot. If you are not using much logs for a while and your wood cutters not cutting any log tree's you will notice your foresters replanting working as it should.

I just have one forester and have a forest growing, also that you can trade for logs and planks rather cheaply so I have no issues with logs or wood.

Just make sure that you have enough mud and fertilizer.

I cannot interact with the pots at my Forester. The dots don't even show up. I can set the priority at the main building, but no-one seems interested in working there. Is there a tool requirement or am I missing something else?

Rebuilt it for the third time. Now I can interact with two pots... Really not understanding this.

You have tree seeds, fertilizer and mud? (and required farmer skill?
