Spoiled Food
I put spoiled food in my designated food resources stockpile.... for the fertilizer. I check the compostor and it is working. Problem is the Villagers come along and take the spoiled food out and put it back into the next available stockpile. I put it back in and they take it out again. How did you guys solve this?

don't allow other stockpiles to accept spoiled food. make sure the one you want to keep the spoiled food is accepting it

Ahhh...didn't even think about that possibility. I'll check into that 1. Thnx

Is there room for the fertilizer in the stockpile, click the values off/on again, make sure the composter is assign to the right town. Build another composter they're cheap to build.

Also I have no idea how they can take it out, once you put it in it's either processed or gone. Kinda weird on that one.

I did check on the 2 Stockpiles they were putting it into. And indeed, I had set them both to "No Food Rations". I further checked all the nearby chests and whatever else could be used to store items. I set them all to "No Food Rations". They are taking it out of the 1 Stockpile I have set to Food Rations. That is where I am putting the Spoiled Food. I saw no way to actually put spoiled food into that Composter ?? But I'll re-check my Composter. TY

there are 2 spots on the compost .bin one tells you its active the other let's you load it or automate what you want your villagers to use.

make sure your actually using the fertilizer. my villagers don't seem to use this step when planting crop's go around your fields and take some fertilizer with you.

I't's been a while since I had to plant crops.

I'll look again but I don't think I have 2 spots... just the use spoiled or burnt.

I set up a separate camp chest to accept spoiled and burnt food only, and disallow it in all other chests and stockpiles.

Yes... as mentioned previously, I too had set mine up like that. I see the two spots on the composter but I see no way to actually pick up/take out the fertilizer?? I actually use the fertilizer from my mixing bucket. And there must be a certain stage as to when you apply the fertilizer? I tried doing it myself but none of the plants took it/needed it??

As far as taking out the fertilizer: use the same location on the side to load material and retrieve the finished fertilizer; yes, once the cycle is finished it can be picked up.

I guess I never saw that because I just keep feeding in more and more spoiled food. The cycle never completed. I'll look closer at that part. Thnx

the food spoilage is the worst feature of the game along a tiny inventory. The spoillage should be optional and part of an"Extreme" or "Realistic" mode of playing the game.

I'd have to agree. I trust they will re-work this too. I would disagree with others that having options would ruin the game.

First of all, spoiled food is not under food items but under resources and you have to check/uncheck it there.
The composter has two interaction points.
One is for managing your pawns and the other is for putting stuff in and taking the fertilizer out.
Fertilizer has to be put on the farm plots / tree sapling bags before the seeds.

I do this too.

I haven't experienced the OP's problem. The only thing I can think of is maybe they set a minimum # for spoiled food in storage and the storage itself is a higher priority than the compostor(s)?
