STOP BURNING MY MEAT!
Getting sick to death of them loading up the smoking campfire, and just walking away and leaving them to burn.

My wife doesn't even do this (any more. lol)

Make them STAND THERE until the food has finished cooking for gods sake!!!!

I'm going to start taking away their food and make them eat burnt food!

That is not how it works....

They do a task, then they go do another task based on the priorities you given them and what open jobs there is.

If you want someone just focused on cooking, give them that as only task with highest priority, along with a lower priority of delivery. Regardless, when they go to sleep they don't care about your meat burning -)

I'm well aware how "it works".

They put food on, and walk away. Task complete.
If the food is done and someone with delivery is available, they grab the food. New task.
If no one is immediately available, the burn timer is ticking.

I'm guessing you're not getting what I'm asking for...

Putting food on to cook should not "complete a task", it should just start the task. Taking the food up and putting it away should complete the task.
If they put food on to cook, they don't go to bed until they complete the task.

So... you need more villagers?

But yeah, I disable cooking fires and smokers both because they start them all cooking just before they go to bed and because they used up all the mushrooms and wood.

I tried to burn food because I accidentally put one in a compost bin. so i loaded the campfire and the smoker. while every one was asleep. still couldn't burn anything before they all woke up and pulled everything off the fires. eventually I just tore down the compost bin and re built it. also found out that food only spoils in the stockpile carrying it it usually just disappears.

I agree, they should not 'complete' the task until it is placed/cooked/put away. that should be the same for really everything. also I wish they would implement multi crafting for the smelting. takes way to much time waiting on 1 ingot. If I put 1 in then it takes say 10 sec, if I put 10 in then it takes 1 min. something like that. yea I know you let your villagers do most of that but in the beginning, I do a lot of that

The problem with smokers/campfire is a game issue, I have a cook who should only cook, he does nothing else. The thing is that he doesn´t empty the darn smoker to cook something else, he waits for a hauler.

Then I set the cook to haul .... but I want him to haul his cooked stuff ... not run all over the map getting 2 wood here ..... 1 linen there ..... and the meat still gets burned.

Then there is nighttime, they set stuff to smoke before going to bed .... and of course the meat gets burned while I m out to fight/find stuff.
