I'm trying to build the large residential houses. Where I want to place one of the houses, the game won't let me do it... for reasons not apparent (as described above).
I've just been playing around and I could place the house in a spot where there is/are a larger mineable stone and a couple of trees. But why can't I place the house where there are two bushes and a tiny mineable stone? The terrain is flat.
I just don't understand it.
Is it the case that this place/area (where all the material you need to build is stacked) is also part of the "blueprint"?
And if this area is in an area where you can't build (due to collision), is the entire construction blocked even though the area where the object is supposed to be built is free? I've also seen small rocks that I couldn't mine with my pike... even though there is a note saying that you can mine them.
And is the respawn of flax, for example, prevented if I build something in this spot?
2. each building has a different 'protected space' around them. You can build chests immediately next to each other, but stockpiles have enough space between them that villagers can get stuck! And that you cannot build fences to prevent villagers from entering that space!
3. Watch out because there's also the "object not fully supported" error message will pop up, too. This means the ground is too uneven to place the building. There is NO fix for this at present: you just have to move it/twist it/shift it... or build smaller buildings (chests are great for this!).
There are stone nodes that are too low into the ground to get a "hit" on so they can't be mined yet they block placement. Basically a perma-block at present. This needs a fix as soon as reasonably possible.
On top of that heaven forbid you place something wrong.. or need to add a building in a place that you didn't know you needed one because you unlocked a new building you didn't know existed. There is no easy way to "move" buildings and you don't get 100% of the resourced back when you delete a building. They need to make this a bit more user friendly.
