Inventory Management
So far I am enjoying playing the game , and i was wondering if the #creators could do some inventory management regarding all the storage we currently own , for example if we can locate certain items in our storage structures and their amount, that will be very helpful.
like lets say i know there is flax in one of my storage structures but i don't know which one exactly and how much , and i want to get those flax , instead of searching each storage , if we can search for the item using the town hall or from the User Interface and then locate them in order to get them .

You do know there is a tab that displays all your items you have and how many in storage. Just not exactly where. So it's like detective work as you get bigger. Unless you set storage for specific items and categorize using the filters on the said storages. That said I highly recommend you do so.

You want to know exactly where and what storage said item is in, yeah so do I. Not currently a thing. Maybe a mod will get to it before the devs, not sure if this is something on their current to do list. It's been asked several times over though so maybe.

Setting your storage buildings items and quantity works fine until the peeps farm more than the amount that has been set. At that time your workers will put the excess anywhere. Such overflow needs a mechanic.

You can set a minimum amount of items to be stored at a place. This should mean that your delivery guys will first try to fill the minimum amount before just dumping the stuff elsewhere. This way you should always have some of the necessary items where you generally look for it.
Efficiency depends on how many delivery people/tasks there are at a time.

I am suspecting that it is the nightly deliveries that are messing up my storage (barns, stockpiles, chests). All have items and quantities set but still deposits are made for non-listed goods. During my morning ran around and moving things, I noticed that much of it is wood, despite having a barn for wood and logs that is sitting mostly empty. I am sure that the workers will eventually deliver these misplaced items, but I would rather that they do their assigned tasks instead.
I did read somewhere that the trade items from other towns are placed in the closest storage.
A flag for a storage to specifically receive deliveries would help and allow me and my workers to deal with our own tasks instead of correcting the FedUPS deliveries.

I wish that in the outpost storage list, that I could click on the item and it would re-focus on the storage which contains it. I'm not picky - it could be just highlighting it on the map.

Because otherwise, with the storage bugs, this is a PITA.

The only solution seems to be to create chests, etc. and assign them to my private outpost so villagers can't touch the stuff.

This wouldn’t happen to be the same Bobloblaw that used to play Thang and Perfect World, is it?
