How do I use the books on my citizens?

in the description it says i can give the books to my folks. but i dont know how.

Have the books in your invetory, then you look up your villager, and look at their attribute(skills). Then click on the + next to the skill where you want to apply the book. It should be highlighted white if you an apply a book to the skill.

You can apply the books from anywhere in the world, no need to be next to the villager. Just look them up from your settlement menu.

Be aware the books come in s nuimber of levels, you an only apply books to your villagers that match their level to the level of the book. You will see a highlighted + sign next to the books you CAN use on them or on yourself as you can apply the books to you too. Be aware that you can increase or buff the value of the book when you are reading it, by eating a number of foods one is Cloudberries, another is Fish Stew and another is Apples. You can them them in various places but there is a small unmarked hamlet near the start town to the north of it that has several of the powerful enhancing foods for purchase. :) have fun.

Fastest way work where you stand or when you loot all time
Button N
Mouse on NPC
Mouse on Atribute
Mouse on Plus you wish to upgrade
Button ESC and move on to play

If you out in the world and "farming" bandits. You will end up loot a lot of books. It's handy to start apply them to your villagers right away to help clear up your inventory space.
