How do I get iron? Can I only use peat to melt it? How do I get that please?

I am at a granite mine where I have been told I could find iron. I get only granite there with my sturdy pickaxe, am I doing something wrong? I am above Horndean.

yes. Iron is its own rock. Just look around more. Pull up the map if needed. it will have a icon just like copper

Head north from horndean following the road until you find a cabin just ontop of a hill / the road slopes down, to the left of that cabin there is another guy in a housing tent keep heading to the left of the map from there down towards the river i have found iron down there that is disguised at tin ore on the map

Hi Razorfang :) Could you maybe take a picture of the exact spot on the map by going there for me and then taking the picture on the map? I finally found some, now I nead coal for melting it, could anyone give me a hint where to find that too please?

Also its peat from the swamp area north of blackridgepool that you will need for the furnace to smelt the iron ores

On the map i just linked you too if you look where blackridgepool is, just above that they have a signpost type icon this is the swamp location where peat is, theres some on a little island to the right of the signpost

I did just realise that I produced it already by producing fertilizer. And I found it in the swamp, thanks a lot guys, I just had at first no shovel on me of course :)
