Best way to mine copper/tin ore?

I have a pickaxe but it takes like 20 swings to maybe get 1 ore. I'm assuming there must be a better tool for such things?

There is a T2 pickaxe, but you might not have access to it. Try and delegate the task to your villagers. Early on you can find Tin/Copper lose on the ground near rock formations without mining. (That can be collected by villagers as well at the foraging hut)they simply don't respawn. Another way would be to have any amount of companions with you, give them each a pickaxe and command them to mine whichever ore you want (Pressing E while they're in your companion squad).

Best way to have a good supply all the time is the mining hut and having an order for Tin/Copper. Just make sure it's build in the area where there are nodes.

Higher harvesting skill increase chance of get any I guess. You could have a companion do the mining. Just give them a pickaxe then use the E to command them to mine.

Drop a small house and a mining structure near (but not too close to) any ore vein you want to mine. If you build them too close to the ore vein, the vein will go poof! Put a small chest/storage down and drop some dried/smoked mushrooms in it. Assign the house, mining structure and chest/storage to a new outpost (e.g. Copper outpost). Switch one of your villagers to that outpost. Drop some mining picks into the mining structure. Go to your main city and set up a daily delivery of 100 copper ore from the Copper Outpost. Boom - you will soon be overflowing in copper. I have one each for tin, copper and iron and am overflowing with the ores. Build travel signs right next to each of them so you can quickly jump out, drop off fresh pickaxes, and grab the broken ones. Oh, and to either drop off food periodically or set up a daily delivery TO that outpost of like 5-10 food.
