Game is broken and solution is obvious - just let NPCs fast travel already
You can't move your squad around fast enough to intercept reclamation parties. The only solution is to build right next to the main brigand base in the high difficulty part of the map, which makes the early game almost impossible. This is why only 0.3% of players have finished the main quest line, which is pathetic. If the devs don't make the main quest achievable, people are going to stop playing this game fast and reviews will bomb. The solution is obvious and the basic architecture is already there. Just let NPCs fast travel along with the main character.

LOL you haven't liberated one village, much less all 7 of them. You are not among the 0.3% of people who have finished the main quest or even among the 10% who have liberated a single village so how can you say "you're not having that issue??? of course you won't have that issue if you don't attempt to complete the main quest at all...

can confirm it took 70 hours and some cheats to liberate the first village alone. Game was not ready for release

My guess is you're supposed to set up military outposts. I intend at some point just putting one near the brigand base

I'm all for allowing our Villagers to use the Sign Posts but the rest of your comment is wildly off base. YOU are not the entire Player base, just as I am not either. We have opinions on how games should be played and we are not the same.

YOU are wildly off base, Mr. Hyperbolic. Nothing in my comment applied only to me, that is specifically why I mentioned a percentage of total players and a specific global achievement. When only 0.3% of players have been able to circumvent the problem, that's a problem. Your criticism that "i'm not the entire player base" is a good laugh since my complaint represents 99.7% of the entire player base, all having the same problem. Maybe think for one second before you start typing eh?

Games fine. Change how you play.

what military outposts? That's what some players are saying the game needs if they aren't going to let NPCs fast travel, but there isn't anything like that is there?

You can create an outpost. Go to the settlement menu and assign a newly built building to be an outpost. You can assign people to a secondary location where you have structures built. I have liberated the entire eastern side of the map. I have 1 outposts located near the bridges that connect them. I have 5 soldiers stationed there, more than enough to repel the reclamation parties when I am fighting as well. Also you can just cheese them by building a fence across at the end of the bridge so they cannot pass and just kill them with arrows. Also to help with food and all of that you can build storage there and have food delivered. Only issue is that food spoils quickly. I do recommend downloading the mod for food spoilage and duration. That is the only mod I have used. They need to change that. And yes I do have the food cellar but building one at every outpost is annoying.

So how did you manage to liberate all the villages? Building next to brigand base?

You need to have multiple bases. Or just cheese the heck out of them. You can kite an entire reclamation party yourself with a bow

That's kind of what I was trying but when I got too far south near Farnsworth my guys couldn't keep up with food deliveries and people kept leaving to get food. But I also couldn't secure victory with less than 15 NPCs. Maybe when they level more. Food mod sounds like a good idea for now. Thanks for posting the only useful comment in the bunch.

Looks like the issue is more between the chair and the keyboard than the game itself.

It's early access and only just released, chill out :-P

Are your NPCs geared with Tier 2 weapons and armor? Also food is huge for fights as well. Again why I said you need the Food mod or they need to fix it. Check out Nexus mods for the Food mod. Helps a lot. I can send you the link if needed. Yeah for Farnsworth I have a fence barracade setup for that crossing so they get cheesed. Though I can defeat them without it. Also again getting good at archery allows you to kill a few before they even get to your men.

To be honest, I don't really care about completing the storyline so I would probably never add to that 0.3%. I don't play the game to beat it, I simply play to enjoy it until I burn out.

That's why I tend to go full Greenpeace on trees and keep plenty of bandit camps around, to keep the game world alive for as long as possible so I can keep having fun in it. No real rush to liberate all the settlements.

NPC fast travel would be a nice convenience but I'm fine without it. Reclamation parties and raids will probably get a few balancing passes as long as development keeps going. For the moment I just wait to see where the game will go from here, it's still early days.
