Guard Post

The NPC cannot be commanded to stand on the guard post. What is the point of building these guard posts if my archers cannot use them?

YOU can stand on them and shoot enemies with a Bow. Also, the Devs are aware NPC's can't stand on it so I imagine it's on their list, though not likely high priority. The purpose of it is to tell you how many Bandits are coming for each Raid.

Good to know about the bandits info. I build alot of guard posts in my camp. Hope the Devs will improve the use of it soon.

Does your comment mean, once built, you can hover on the map and see the count of enemies before they get closer? just wanted to clarify before I build. Thanks!

The guard post basically just a eleveated shooting platform for you. It will also report how many in the incoming raid party.

IT flashes on the screen "7 Bandits are coming" or something to that effect.

They just slightly elevated platforms. They offer just as much protection as a wet noodle. And your archers will do friendly fire on your own dudes just the same..
