I just not feel prepared yet to build the bell tower...
!!! spoiler a head !!!

Once you defeated both troops stationary in village and tax collectors the village older will ask you to build a bell tower to irritate the bandit and make them launch a major assault on the village...

But since I already did it once earlier and my troops is not at the status for a major combat so I diced to not give a ♥♥♥♥ to the older's request and funny things happen, bandit start sending out tax collectors(a small unit content 3~4 guys) every couple days which is easy to take care of BUTT gain me 100 trust of the village every time I defeat them.

for those who know what I mean hmmmm......

I'm almost sure it is not how it should be and would get patch sooner or later but for now no more buildings for those lazy bastards :D

there are 2 bonuses to liberating a village - you can recruit professionals for the settlement, and you can trade. so you gonna have to deal with that fist wave as mentioned above and defend the belltower. if the hostiles destroy it, you gonna have to do it again, so wait until your army is strong enough. Recruit more ppl, give them better weapons and armor. And yes, the game is build so that you can't progress in the main storyline without those professionals. You need them for new research.

Trade is kinda like a joke to me. I mean what can I do with 15 logs ? That quantity of logs can barely feed my central kitchen. Trade system is more a trash dumper which doesn't work quite will(village refuse to trade if you give a away free stuff)...

However that's a mining village at the later game map tho, if liberating there can turn there into a infinity mine for us it might be much a driving force for my to do so but what we currently have must just be trade with them to buy what ? 12 coppers a day ? Nah just leave it be.

I actually like them, they remind me to wipe the castle when ever the red spot pop out on the mini-map.
To spawn in the tax collector squad or village recapture team will also forcedly respawn the troops in castle. Is like 5k renown for wiping the castle once just barely enough to hire a beggar.

I built my first belltower by accident. sorry started my first rebellion by accident. I got annihilated.. still had zero Iron.barely in a simple gambison. I waited 10 days and upgraded my people accordingly. won the initial fight. only lost 5 of 11 in the fight
built the bell tower and got hit by the tax collector or reclaimation crew. got obliterated. searched for Iron for a week, before I finally gave up and looked at someones map. finally had some iron. almost studied and built all the non apprentice weapons and armor. going to give it another try. didn't think about hiring any apprentices when I cleared Hearndean think Padstow is the better choice for 1st with the woodsman .can't see the benifit of liberating Haerndean. well besides the fact that that's what the game want's

Because you are not doing it right. More like "Oh look BRONZE ingots there is no respawn of metal nodes so any town with metal ingots is a huge deal lol. I mean I don't need to mine copper and tin any more with Bronze bars every day I trade for stuff I would put into the outhouse normally lol Like i only need copper to fix the hoe lol. But its way way less then when I was using bronze I had to smelt myself for straps, tools and weapons lol.

I mean the first town is unlimited source of bronze but you got trade lol. There is other tons that will trade you bars as well. Just like you can trade for high end leather resources from Farn as well lol Like stuff is there you just not looking hard enough...
