Best place(s) to find chickens?

I can't shoot a crow to save my village's life, so I need to genocide some chickens.

... only I can't find any.

There were 2 from Padstow on the road to the wheat farm, but I need about 100 more.

Any ideas? I can't even find them in the towns any more :(

have your hunters hunt crows. much easier.

Many of us don't have Tier 2 buildings yet.

it's like everything else it takes practice. for crows try to get them to fly directly away from you and shoot at them you get better as your archery rises. my first crow was pretty awesome. side to side you have to lead them and aim over them much harder but not impossible
deer take a head shot aim where the bottom of the circle rests on the top of their head between the antlers. this is as soon as it see's you if slightly before aim just a bit higher.
you can get the drop on them too.
if they are by a rock and your standing on it they might not even see you. I had that happen once. hopping down a hill and suddenly a deer right below me. if I would have stepped of the rock I would have landed on him. easy head shot.
I am pretty sure that as your hunting skill improves you can get closer.

once you have hunters it doesn't really matter you'll have hides and feathers filling up your barn.
