Considering this game is listed on Snail's publisher page, at this point Snail and DC may as well be the same company.

So since I've never played ARK and only heard about the recent controversy of selling the old game twice (or something dun quite remember) from YouTube: Is Snail Games really that bad or are people just momentarily outraged and fed up with them?
Well, what is there to say about that? On the one hand the game operator who says, "Hey, after years, let's finally spice up the game optically a bit, then we'll sell it to the Dödel again, what do you think?" And on the other hand, the player community, who says "Hey, everything stays the same, it's just being prettied up visually, but hey, let's buy it again for a hefty price!" Who's the bigger idiot? I'm afraid if this works there will be other operators who will do the same. But what surprises me the most is that after the grand announcement to launch the new ARK in August, it has now been postponed to 2024 - and at the same time is working on a new game, although apparently there are few people in the team?! Why not release ARK 2 first and then a new game? But I've stopped asking logical questions because I hardly ever get any useful answers.
The problem with Snail Games is very much more than "They're selling an old game twice".
They can't be trusted and destroy everything they touch. So a few things from my experience with Snail Games:
Dark and Light: A title they've abandoned. Still in Early Access with the last update being further back than 2020.
Atlas (click on their publisher and it takes you to Snail Games): Ark clone which people actually caught them out by discovering Ark: Survival Evolved's main menu hidden in the game. They've since fixed that, but it goes to show that Atlas was only ever a shoddily thrown together mod in disguise.
Not to mention, the developers decided to throw the PvE community under the bus by changing the focus of the game to PvP exclusively.
Ark: Survival Evolved: Disregarding the Ark: Survival Ascended fiasco, Snail Games has allegedly (I say allegedly, but there are Youtubers showing proof) been involved with helping at least one tribe that I know of (TEA Tribe) and banning any tribe that successfully raids/attacks them.
The recent ban scandal resulted in 93 players banned. And not a single word from Snail Games or Studio Wildcard about it. That very fact that they have made no announcement at all is massively suspicious in itself.
So basically, you have a publisher that allegedly has employees cheating in their own official servers open to the public.
I don't have any experience with Last Oasis, so I can't say much about that. I have heard that it is a massive failure, but I don't know if anything underhanded went on. Someone else might have more knowledge about that.
But, hey! I guess PixARK is at least a success right? Mostly positive reviews with a huge 24 hour peak of 431 players...
I think this is enough of a warning, right?
I want to say you are being naive, but perhaps you are just a very positive person. I lost my positivity some time back while dealing with evil greedy corporations like Snail Games.
Just don't be too surprised when they find a way to tank this game into the ground, too. They always find a way.
I hope I'm wrong with this one and that you will have a better experience than I did. Good luck.
