The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall

How do I make controls not miserable
I am well aware the controls were made for more "dated" machinery, and it wasn't a problem in the 90s, but as it stands moving my character is an achievement for me even after rebinding controls.

Is there some kind of mod or suggestion to help modernize the movement?

You can rebind controls in Daggerfall, too.

WASD movement is the same as it ever was. Are you on a non-US keyboard?

unity is your friend
the controls feel fine to me with wasd to move, space to jump, m1 to interact and mouse to move the camera, and fullscreen because while I like the character portrait, having the full hud makes me disorientated
though if you really can't groove with the steam version you should try daggerfall unity, among many other things it lets you move diagonally

Here are the Keybinds i used for DOS and change the mouse control to VIEW MODE.
If you are using DOS make sure to patch the game in DOSBOX manually. Look up a guide on it.

rebind the controls to wasd movement like every other game and whatever action buttons you want

I made a guide for this back when this launched on Steam and Twitch got filled with streamers struggling with the default controls.

Mouse is probably the easiest, for being consistent.
