The problem with the quest
I took a quest from an aristocrat in Daggerfall Castle, ran around and cleaned up the entire Greenfield Hold dungeon, but I still didn't understand who needed to be killed to complete the task.

Lady Bridwell of Daggerfall hired me on behalf of Carolabit Goering of the Holmarket Community to kill a monster known only as the Voidoth, who is terrorizing the land around Greenfield Hold. If the monster dies and I do it for Karolabit Goring within 21 days, I will receive my reward.

I've already figured it out myself. I used the advice 76561199273953362 and used the console command: tele2qmarker, the console opens via a tilde.

Found the giant and killed him, but how and to whom should I pass the quest now?) NPC Carolabyth?

Yes, go around asking townspeople walking around for Carolabit Goering. They should eventually tell you the town where the ally lives, travel there, ask for him, they'll tell you the name of the location he is at, then ask where that location is in town.

This sounds like the quest you have: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:Deadly_Diplomacy

If this isn't the quest, then I would say try talking to the noble you got the quest from, Lady Bridwell.

Thanks bro, I've already done, had to create a manual for this, though in Russian)
This was exactly the quest you're talking about and found this NPC through the debagger quest.
The questor and anyone else did not help in the search, except for specifying the color of clothes, even with a charisma of 90+ and the same high communication skills.

Then youngling has one more question for the elder jedi - are the quests of guilds, taverns, nobles, merchants, other npc - repeated or completed only once?
The elder Jedi Jan 3, 2024 @ 9:26am
TLDR: Yes, they repeat, all quests besides the Main Quest are procedurally generated.

A longer breakdown of the quest mechanics:
Quests in daggerfall are more like templates that are filled out with different things: people, places, dungeons, etc. Each time you talk to a person who offers you a quest, the game picks the 'template' the quest will use, and fills in the blanks with a few variables. The game will still create quests using the "Deadly Diplomacy" template, ( another noble sends you to find and kill a monster for an alliance with another noble), but those variables will change each time. (It may be Lord Ka'var asking you to kill a wereboar in the Yeomsly laboratory instead.)

So you won't most likely get the same quest with the same noble, dungeon, and monster, but it is possible. Many quests have certain requirements, such as selecting a specific dungeon or building type. Some regions do not have a lot of a type, such as daggerfall, which only has Privateer's hold and 1 other Human Stronghold (A dungeon type), so if you get a quest that picks a dungeon from the Human Stronghold category, you can end up going to the same place multiple times.

All quests with the exception of the Main Quest Line, the Former Student quest/questline for the Mages Guild, and Daedric Prince quests can 'repeat' in this manner.

Thank you for the detailed answer. I prefer one-time, but original and memorable quests and always try to avoid randomly generated repetitive ones. I'll focus on the main quest.

If you only want to play each type once, Daggerfall Unity has an option for Guilds to give you a list so you can pick which quest you get, from the starting screen where you change settings & manage mods & stuff, just go to Advanced-> Enhancements -> Guild quest player selection. There's no option for it for merchant/innkeeper(commoner) and noble quests though.

Certain parts of the main quest require you to be a certain level to complete or will have like a month or so in-game time pass between them, so you'll have time in-between to do the side stuff. Definitely try out some of the ones from people you talk to in stores & inns, as some of those are quite interesting / memorable. The temples have a few good ones, the Mages Guild has the most variety outside of the commoner ones, and Mages and Fighters both have a one-time quest line with named characters. (Former Student & Lord Ka'var are the quest titles respectively)

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I already know about the choice of quests in the settings, now I'm going through the guild of magicians and even without this option, if reject the task and immediately ask for another one, it also changes.

Quests in this game are trash. I understand it is an old game. I remember playing it when I was a kid, but seriously who has time to run in circles around a town asking everyone where some person lives and no one tells you a thing. Eventually the timer run out and you take a reputation hit, so even more people won't talk to you, making future quests more difficult. Not to mention that 2 of the 3 quests that I was able to complete did not finish properly. So they just remained open. On top of this the quests are not voluntary. You talk to a vendor trying to sell some stuff and they impose a quest on you. If you don't take it they get made and won't talk to you anymore.
I really enjoy the nostalgia, but there is a reason why games don't do this BS anymore.

Don't dump Personality, use the appropriate conversation tone, and you should get the answers you need pretty fast. You don't even need a high Personality, just not like 20 or 30.

I am already at level 15 and have not failed any quest, although I do everything in a row, but once. Quest debugger.
