I wouldnt call it playable if I crash every 20mins.
Then there is Daggerfall Unity (DFU), which won't work on a DOS PC, because Unity requires a modern operating system. Obviously DFU mods won't work either.
To explain "in principle": The Steam version of Daggerfall may be difficult to run on a DOS PC, due to the way it's configured. It assumes to find two folders, Dagger and DFCD, the latter is interpreted as a CD drive by DOSBox. I haven't tested it, but you may have to create the same configuration on your DOS PC, if you want to run Daggerfall there. It "should" be possible to integrate the two folders in one, but I can't say more about it, because I've never done it.
An alternative is to use DaggerfallSetup, available on the wiwiland site (just search for "DaggerfallSetup"). It's the same game but configured differently. All you would have to do is to copy one folder over to your DOS PC and run the exe.
There are additional advantages of the DaggerfallSetup installation (concerning mods and game parameters), but I won't go into the details here, Most importantly, the game files themselves are identical (you could use GOG Daggerfall, too - not the "GOG CUT"), and they will run on your DOS PC at least as stably as the DOSBox-emulated ones on your Windows PC.
PS: I don't remember any crashes of classic Daggerfall - with the exception of the rare "void bug". It's a graphics glitch rather than a crash, but has the same effect: you have to terminate the game session and launch the game again. Luckily there is a workaround helping you to get out of the void and continue playing. For details see the Patches section of UESP Daggerfall.
I also, SOMEHOW, caught lycanthropy in the starter dungeon lmao.
Appearantly DOS32A increase the stability by a lot. So, im going to try that
