GoG and steam deck
I looked up online how to install and play daggerfall unity on steam deck. I learned how to install GoG on the steam deck without instilling a windows boot system.

Now I'm wondering can you install the GoG version of dagger fall unity on the deck without windows. I asked because its pre modded and I'm not great at modding games and have the most important mods al ready in it.

I looked up YouTube and found nothing so I figured I ask here.

I'm actually attempting this now. So far, no matter which version of proton I use, it crashes at launch. I will get back to you if I find a solution

Just because it might confuse players not so familiar with Daggerfall and Daggerfall Unity (DFU): There is no "GoG version of dagger fall unity". There is a Daggerfall GOG Cut, which is Daggerfall + an outdated version of DFU + a huge bundle of (also mostly outdated) DFU mods, which doesn't look like it will ever be updated by GOG.
Whoever is interested in playing Daggerfall with the DFU engine would probably be better served by installing the most recent version of DFU (and the mods he / she likes, if so desired) - it's not so difficult.

Don't use the GoG cut, it's out dated and was always a bad idea (you should know what mods you're installing and what they do, not just download a pack and hope for the best).

Considering Daggerfall is free, here and online in general, why the focus on getting the GoG version to work?
