minigames: way to avoid them?

Playing on PC and being right-handed, minigames give me trouble... Even being a touch-typer, I'm not especially fond of games requiring quick reflexes, and aswder controls simply drive me crazy... Plus, playing on laptop keyboard I fail to activate run button with arrow-up, actually preventing me from running and making several quest lines extremely hard, like running away from moths. Any way to do it differently or I should simply shelf this game?

Some of the mini games don't require movement. Just press Button A or Button B. You could lean towards those. The wood chopping game is the easiest imo. Kiss the rat also requires no real movement.
