That's true, that's why it's only seemingly the true ending for now since it leads to the sequel game. If this game is later confirmed to be a soft reboot (?) of sorts or some other way to lead into a different timeline with a new future game, then yeah it's not canon/true end.
Though I've also heard from a separate thread that even Ending 1 supposedly has deviations from pocket mirror? I can't confirm since I didn't notice any difference myself, but if that is the case then ending 1 definitely isn't canon/true at that point.
Nobody ever said this game has a true ending.
"In what ways does Little Goody Two Shoes connect with your previous work, Pocket Mirror?"
Ebee: Little Goody Two Shoes is a direct prequel to Pocket Mirror! With that said, while Little Goody Two Shoes’ story and true ending are tied to the events of Pocket Mirror, it is not mandatory to play one to understand the other, as both games were designed to exist as standalone titles.
Not only is this outdated, this also is pretty obvious double speak. It's a prequel because it has to sell as a franchise title, but it is supposed to be treated as standalone. The devs also made sure not to actually label the endings or rank them. The true/good/bad/normal cateogorization was purposefully abandoned.
Ahh, I didn't know there already was direct confirmation, that's good to know. Thanks for informing.
Can you elaborate on the outdated part? Did the devs walk back on previous statements or something like that?
Only one ending is canon to the continuity of Pocket Mirror. The other endings are basically their own continuities where Pocket Mirror doesn't happen.
You decide whichever ending you want to be canon; it's your playthrough, after all. No one gets to dictate your play experience except yourself.
The game itself actually has some implications that multiple timelines may be a thing, since there is one specific Golden Girl heavily implied to be Elise since she looks exactly like the Golden Girl that appears when He gushes about how good Elise's soul is...and she talks to an Elise who hasn't made the deal yet.
