+ Safest rest spot is where the Ruby key rests. It can be a bit of a journey, but you get a good sleep there.
+ Water drains stamina. There are 3 bars. Left to right Health, Stamina, Mana. Your Stamina does not come back on it's own, just like health. You drowned.
+ All the way to the SW corner of the map for the exit. It's a rectangle map.
[left or right click hold] + [mouse movement] is your swings and jab
Before that [left click] your portrait. Go to your equipment. Equip your starter weapon. . . You should have one
Its still a cool game you should download the modern fixes, the remapping, and look up a starter guide once you figure out what to do its not hard.
I needed no guide however on the first easy sewer level. Its literally just weak goblins and rats and that's it. You don't even need to cast spells or level up. Just watch your health and rest accordingly. But hey the games tiny and free maybe if you're feeling tes nostalgic you can give it another shot one day.
Biggest advice is fast travel, once you get out of the dungeon you have to fast travel it will take you forever to walk anywhere. You can fast travel by pulling up the world map with alt+M or right clicking on the map icon instead. Also to find the main quest objective simply ask random npcs where the place you're looking for is. Eventually one will mark it on your map.
Funny cause they said the manual actually says otherwise lol.
Also I found a reliable loot source in Highrock, my knight is filthy rich. I think it is E. . something, the water dungeon just outside of town.
They just don't make games like this anymore & it's worth knowing what things could be like if game studios took more risks instead of sticking with the same boring formula. Arena set the stage for a lot of what we take for granted today.
If you want the FULL experience, I highly recommend playing this on DOSbox. You'll get the original music & sound & the fun of launching the game via commands.
Did you allude to the differences between the CD and the floppy versions? Same gameplay, the CD version has more audio.
