Honestly snoof at 3 turns is more reliable even if he doesn't hit every enemy. Especially in certain fights with snow resistant enemies. Like the final fight has enemies with snow resistance besides the boss.
Maybe that's a hot take.
It's much better to save unit slots for damage output and strong debuffs. If you're having trouble pulling the snow item(s) out of your deck you have too many cards. Just munch your scrappy swords and the like and avoid treasures if you don't need new cards. First bell get the one that allows you to pull more cards. You can essentially guarantee snow and/or blocking item every other hand. If you're desperate you can redraw before the counter is reset.
It always feel weird having snoof in my deck late game though.. like he's a tad too weak for it.
