Wildling as a subclass?
Planning to stream through the game soon using my original party that I never beat the game with back in the day. It was my first EO so I definitely wasn't good at it and gave up in stratum 3.

I've played through all the other games now (no untolds tho) and so I VERY MUCH want some Binds in my kit. But the only bind potential is if I went club Gladiator, which I'm not gonna do. So... I think I want to subclass someone with Wildling. Does leveling up the animals also increase bind rate or is it only the animal stats?

My backrow is an Arbalist and Zodiac. Zodiac can probably have the TP to spare to summon animals, but I could also see my Arbalist doing so too--but thats a more head-canon-y thing. I think Arbalists struggle with TP so that might not be the best idea >_>

EDIT: Oh sorry, here's my party
Monk / Gladiator / Hoplite
Zodiac / Arbalist
Haven't decided on other Subclasses but i think I was going to go Bucanneer for Glad.

Leveling up the animals does indeed increase their bind infliction rates.
Granted, due to how disable infliction is handled in EO3 (enemies build up resistance to disables each time they land until they're immune), they're not that great here unless your party is able to capitalize on them to do as much damage as humanly possible during the disable's random (usually low) duration.

It's also worth noting that the infliction rates are affected by the Tec and Luck stats, so that's something to keep in mind if you really want to have a Wildling subclass for animal summoning.
