PSP Save import
It would be nice if there would be a way to use my old PSP save.
So many hours of fun on my steam...

I think if you google, there must be a way to pull that off. PS3s, not sure about newer ones. You could backup your savefile through a USB Stick, ofcourse you still had to decrypt it.

A tool was made for Persona 4 Golden, so give it some time and I’d imagine we’ll get something similar. I’m like 30 hours in on my Vita, I’d love to move it to my Deck

Yea, I feel pretty confident that this will be possible. I can't imagine it will take too long before someone works it out. Or shares it, someone out there probably already has worked it out.

main data file is 1:1 psp data, however it has .BINslot that's a mix of PARAM.SFO data in custom format and a checksum, just need to find what it's using as a seed and what parts of data is hashed

now, here's a quick hacky way:
1. make sure your psp save data is decrypted
1.1. you can use https://www.save-editor.com/tools/wse_psp_save_encrypter_decrypter.html, EU/US game key is 930F0020A7030010F5050060340C0030
1.1.1. you can run debug bat for ppsspp, load your game data, and read ppsspplog.txt for Game key (hex): line to get game key for your copy of the game
1.2. or you can use PPSSPP to save decrypted copy
2. make spare save in PC version of the game
3. open Load Game screen with the list of saves
4. alt-tab and replace PSPSAVExxxx.BIN with your decrypted copy of the PSP save data (PSPSAVE.BIN)
5. load replaced data

looks like it checks the sum when it scans for existing saves, but actually loads when you select specific slot

PC saves are in Steam\userdata\<your_steam_user_id>\1809700\remote

@13xforever when I use this method, it does not let me save again. When I save it says "No Data" still and will not load, although it does create the save files in the remote folder.

idk, I just loaded my clear save and it started a new game, I'll see if normal save also works or not.

EDIT: I just tried and regular saves work just fine, it loaded the save correctly and I was able to immediately overwrite the modified slot without any issues.

Ahh I have no idea what's wrong with mine. I can quicksave and continue but I can't make a regular save.

I've tried this method and also editing the .BINfile with a hex editor in the same way as P4G, both let me load my save but neither let me make a new save.

Oh well, it's a 60 hr save on the female route, guess I'll start a male route playthrough in a different slot in the meantime.

So i tried this but all i get is a empty save card that i try to click but it just gives me a buzzer noise when i click on it.
Could I get further assistance?

Same thing happened to me.

I trust you’re all smart enough to follow a four step instructions, and also to understand that it only works once per attempt and you can’t actually reuse the slot if you don’t immediately overwrite it.

In this case I’d suggest to wait for a proper save converter or to play the game as intended from the beginning.

In case anyone comes across this, my issue was that the new save I made did not have the exact same name as the save I was trying to import. I was using all caps, my old save was NIntenBren but I made my new one NINTENBREN. I started over using the exact same name (and gender, and difficulty) and I was able to save normally.

What did you end up doing for last name then? Also are you saying use all caps or exact name?

Sorry it should've been separated. You should use the exact same name. My name on the save I was trying to import was Ninten Bren, but when I made a new dummy save I was going quick and named it NINTEN BREN. That's why I wasn't able to save again. I knew something was up with the name because when I loaded my save the character had no name at all.

fore the record, I've been importing saves with completely different names/mc, so it's probably some other issue

When you decrypt your save, is it supposed to be a .dat file as opposed to a .BIN file? I saved it as a BIN when I replaced the steam save with it.

And I tried replacing the saves while I was on the Load Game screen, but when I attempt to load the replaced save file, the game crashes.
