1. make sure your psp save data is decrypted
1.1. you can use https://www.save-editor.com/tools/wse_psp_save_encrypter_decrypter.html, EU/US game key is 930F0020A7030010F5050060340C0030
1.1.1. you can run debug bat for ppsspp, load your game data, and read ppsspplog.txt for Game key (hex): line to get game key for your copy of the game
1.2. or you can use PPSSPP to save decrypted copy
2. make spare save in PC version of the game
3. open Load Game screen with the list of saves
4. alt-tab and replace PSPSAVExxxx.BIN with your decrypted copy of the PSP save data (PSPSAVE.BIN)
5. load replaced data
looks like it checks the sum when it scans for existing saves, but actually loads when you select specific slot
PC saves are in Steam\userdata\<your_steam_user_id>\1809700\remote
EDIT: I just tried and regular saves work just fine, it loaded the save correctly and I was able to immediately overwrite the modified slot without any issues.
I've tried this method and also editing the .BINfile with a hex editor in the same way as P4G, both let me load my save but neither let me make a new save.
Oh well, it's a 60 hr save on the female route, guess I'll start a male route playthrough in a different slot in the meantime.
So i tried this but all i get is a empty save card that i try to click but it just gives me a buzzer noise when i click on it.
Could I get further assistance?
Same thing happened to me.
In this case I’d suggest to wait for a proper save converter or to play the game as intended from the beginning.
Sorry it should've been separated. You should use the exact same name. My name on the save I was trying to import was Ninten Bren, but when I made a new dummy save I was going quick and named it NINTEN BREN. That's why I wasn't able to save again. I knew something was up with the name because when I loaded my save the character had no name at all.
And I tried replacing the saves while I was on the Load Game screen, but when I attempt to load the replaced save file, the game crashes.
