Otherwise, you get the full FMV cutscenes and being able to walk around town in the PS2 version, as well as the Answer "DLC," so that tends to be the definitive first experience. And then once you've done that, P3P has a bunch of new dialogue and social links that you can sink your teeth into.
FES is the version you want since its just the original but better in every way. Unlike Portable which is not better in every way and has downgrades.
I like both, but I prefer P3P because it has two versions for some social lincks (wich means at least two different runs), some good mechanics from P4 and you can control the party. The visual novel can be a downgrade for many people, but to me it's not that relevant.
In fact is only a matter of personal preferences and it's ok to like one or another (or both), so you can choose the one that fits your own taste.
