Does FemC's campaign get better?
So, P3FES is one of my favourite games of all time and now I'm experiencing P3P and FemC's campaign fpr the first time (on switch, it is portable verson so let's play it portably ;P), I've just had the character whose name gets censored's ('xD seriosuly steam, what has this poor girl done to you?) introduction (playing a little in the evenings, so I'm kinda slow with it - ah, nothing like being an adult and having funds for the games you want but not so much time to play them...) and so far... I'm kinda disappointed with FemC's route.
I'm not talking about the PS2 to PSP visual downgrades, but about the writting in this campaign. With how much P3P fans are attatched to FemC I was expecting... something more? Not just forced "oh, btw, reminder, you're a girl" lines and making Junpei blander with removing his jealousy arc. I guess the new social links are kinda neat, though I don't like the new characters' more P4-like designs (it's my least favourite period was Soejima's work).
So? Are the social links with male party members this good? Are some more substancial interesting changes coming? Or is it just it and FemC's fans kinda overhypped her?

Please, no fighting over wich version/protagonist is better

MC is a broody angsty teen, FeMC is a bright and positive influence much closer to P4 characters. So of course you wont like her. Social Links are good, romances too. Could have been more in-depth but its fine for what it is. Other minor changes are spoiler.

I liked her because she felt like an actual character, MaleMC, on the other hand, seemed too much like cardboard.

So far seems like a cheerful cardboard and nothing more '^^
I'm assuming it's keeping a brave face, pretending to be fine not to worry others as a result of trauma of witnessing the death of her parents, similair to what shutting himself off in his shell was with male mc, am I right and it will get explored a little or am I pulling stuff out of my ass because of the characterization added to male protag in the movies 'xD and she just is cheerful and positive?

Male MC, as I remember, really didn't give much "emotions". He felt pretty generic for a persona character unless I remember wrong what I've seen in FES. There is definitely a bit more "cheerfulness" with the female MC and she gets some nice link scenes with others.

Yeah, Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth confirms that being cheerful and energetic is how she deals with depression. It breaks down when she runs into the SEES from MaleMC's universe and they don't recognize her.

The female perspective changes a bit, more upbeat.

Also depending how you view fictional and real relationships the Ken relationship might throw you off. He is romancable although in a "I will wait till I am old enough" way. If that doesnt bother your (and honestly its shouldn't i think younger generations forget this is a old fashioned thing) it does add more depth to him. I def recommend doing Shinjis romance as Male side criminally ignores fleshing him out imo.

The whole Ken romance thing earns an eyeroll and a heavy sigh from me (just like the teacher - student romance in carcaptor sakura, though, actually, I have more of an issue with clamp in this matter since they were being published in magazine for a preteen/early teen girls), I have more issues with the teacher social link in p5 than with this (though most of it is just game's weird insistence on me experiencing that social link in particular, is it that weird not to want to blackmail your teacher? 'xD)
I can get past it, just like I could get past the embarassing scenes in male mc campaign (the picking up girls and sneaking up on girls in hot springs), actually, I think those earned an even heavier sigh from me 'xD

Hm, interesting, I didn't really feel like he wasn't fleshed out enough but I'll keep that in mind

To be honest, I mostly just hope that the game will ease up with lines like "Oh, a fellow girl is coming, I'm sure you'll get along well, since you're a girl too, you girly girl" Geez, I get it, I'm playing as a girl, I know, I see the pink UI 'xDD

If you go for the new options it does change some big parts of the story, but probably for the worse.

letting Shinji survive through having the bullet hit a necklace you give him is a pretty bad change that ruins the entire point of the original game and lessens Akihiko's character completely

But if you go for the same options as the original route, then its fine.

Oh, right, I remember hearing that you can prevent his death and I'm not a fan of this change... too much lessening other characters' story/development for the sake of fanservice

So many complaints for a nice change of pace and a breath of fresh air. Everything has to be a controversy or some ♥♥♥♥. Kids these days are never happy

agree,if they don't like it why bother playing it :p3p_sweat:,they do think everything's going to be like they like and want, not everything's going to be that way all the time..

If you want to go down that line, they've been undercutting it since FES. Chidori surviving was a FES change.

Cardboard is not cheerful.

Everything aside, I like being mean to Junpei :P

Not really.

People may never wake up from a coma.

Most of the actual flavour of femc's character comes from dialogue choices, and it's here that we see that she's honestly really funny: https://imgur.com/3ZwWik8

If you're not looking for it, you might not notice a lot of the differences between her and Makoto, but they're definitely there. She's not necessarily just "cheery"- she jokes around, and even likes to mess with the team sometimes by acting ditzy.

Also, she actually seems to get worked up about things, unlike Makoto, like this gem here: https://imgur.com/EXwb0xf

Honestly I have a full screenshot folder of my favourite femc bits, she's great.
