WE WOULDNT EVEN HAVE P4G or P5R if this game had not come first, the first modern persona game which brought us most of the elements we know and love now.
Why port a lesser version while you're doing it though? p4 and p5 came with their best version and it's the natural thing to do.
It's not being unthankful, it's thinking logically, there's no reason to praise them for doing something utterly lazy.
Really wish this was true. But if true, it wouldn't make sense for Atlus to release this current P3P PC port, which is absolutely a lazy cash-in. They would have announced the legit remake instead. All this release does is squander the goodwill and credibility Atlus built up with the P4G PC port.
I bought the P4G PC port, despite having bought P4 twice already (PS2 original, then the PSVita version) in the sincere hope Atlus would have released at least a proper P3FES PC port or announced a full-on P3 remake. Not taking the bait again this time.
from what i've read, it seems FES is a complete spaghetti code monster so they didn't bother.
personally i think i'll be playing FES on emu and then getting this on sale and go for the achievements, since i do like this.
unfortunate but thats how it is...
Query, if you have a PS3, does it still work for PS1/PS2/PS3 downloads? I thought they cut that off? (Honestly do not know and looking as interested for the same)
We are talking about the same developers who did a PC port of Catherine right before the Full-Body version came out for consoles.
I don't doubt that they'd release P3P as a port while continuing to work on a P3 Remake. They already have the assets and art for every cast member of P3 in P5's style already done, they're used in the dancing games, well, minus P3P's FeMC, but I don't doubt that with a P3 Remake they'd likely port the FeMC route in alongside the original FES content, just to make it a "definitive" edition of P3.
Get off their nuts, its embarrassing to watch.
I bought and played a couple of hours of Portable but it wasn’t really grabbing me the same way P4G, P5R or even P5S did… Based on what I was seeing in P3P I assumed Persona 3 was just way too old and belonged to an era of much simpler games.
Still, I decided to Google search Persona 3 FES. I was shocked to discover a much more robust, original version of the game, full of cutscenes, fully realized 3D environments. Compared to FES, P3P felt like a Nokia phone game.
I was even more surprised to discover amazing HD mods available for FES - where fans and enthusiasts did a much better job than Atlus, upscaling 2D assets for modern displays.
I have now restarted the game, emulating it with EmuDeck and PSCX2 with all HD mods. One of biggest advantages of playing P3P over FES was supposed to be direct party control, but guess what - there’s a mod/cheat for that too!
I may return to Portable to try female protagonist, but for the first playthrough, I am so glad I bothered following the advice and switched to FES.
