P3P VS P3 FES

So, whats the difference between these games? i heard the portable one is a butchered version of the original ps2 game but with the only difference is having less content and a female main character or femc as she is well known. is this "THAT" psp version? or is this the FES version with the epilogues and extra costumes?

Seems to be the portable version. I only played the FES version on PS3 and that's completely different. You can actually walk around outside of the dungeon in FES. And those stretched out PS2 graphics also looked better than this crunchy rubbish. I personally already requested a refund because this game just feels dead.

Just get a copy of P3:FES (you can google for where to find the .iso) and go to Game Banana and get the Mod (google it) then just follow the simple detailed instructions and Viola you have a great HD game. You will be emulating it on PCSX2 but the thats in the instuctions as well. Until Atlus does a proper release of this great game thats the best way to do it right now.

P3P plays more like a visual novel, replacing 3D exploration and animations with 2D character portraits and text. It has an optional mode to play as a female protagonist that changes how characters interact with you a bit and changes some of your social links. You can also control all of your party members directly, though this makes the game easier as the game wasn't balanced around it.

FES has 3D environments, higher poly character models, 3D animations, anime cutscenes, and a bonus post-game story called The Answer. However, you cannot directly control your party members, instead using Tactics to give them a general idea of how you want them to fight. There is also no female character mode.

The version here is P3P, but rendered at a higher resolution with higher resolution 2D art assets and with higher framerate options.

FES has the fuller main game as intended and with no cut content, but is a little harder due to not having later changes.

Portable has those changes to make things easier, but as a PSP version, it had to downgrade the main game by cutting animated scenes, city exploration, 3D character models during conversations, a 30 hour epilogue, and obviously a worse presentation

So yeah, FES is better on a first run, while Portable could be better on a second but that depends

FES has NOT the fuller main game. P3P has the people being stuck in tartarus for example, you have Vision Quest, which is strangely done by Margaret, but meh. P3P has the most gameplay. Visual it might not be that great, but it's not the worst imo. The animations aren't necessary telling more about the story. And otherwise you can always check them out on YT.

FES still has the fuller main story for not cutting anything that was originally intended on the first release.

Portable adds a lot of little extras but ends up making the main story worse by cutting parts out

100% agree. Imagine playing FES or P3 and walking around everywhere over and over again. No thanks. Massive grind. People can google google p3 fes afterstory for the 15 minute add on at the end game that has no bearing on anything.

It would be neat to walk around with an optional fast travel system, but Fes doesn't have Kotone, so it's a no-go.

Trying too hard to push FemC here.

She's a good addition, but a remix of the main game doesnt excuse all the downgrades to the main game, which affects both characters.

(she also gets the worst story addition with Shinji's new ending, and optional Ken romance)
